Sizing us up again...Game Kiwi stayer Harris Tweed, last year's Caulfield Cup runner-up, is all set for another Aussie campaign. He is likely to tackle the Australian Cup but his #1 autumn target is The BMW (2400m) at Rosehill on Apr 2. Trainers Bjorn and Murray Baker are also keen to bring Vic Derby winner Lion Tamer to Sydney, although injury problems have caused some concern. A cut to his hock has delayed his campaign prep. The Queensland Derby is an option.

Looks like Hay List will miss Sat's Expressway Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill though trainer John McNair is putting in an entry. Hay List has bounced back minor soreness he suffered last week after working on a firm surface. McNair says the Lightning 1000m, a $500,000 race on Feb 19, is the best option. It's the kickoff race, though, for arch rival Black Caviar.
