Although beaten into 2nd in the Grp 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom on Saturday, the UK stayer Red Cadeaux appears to be progressing well for another Melbourne Cup campaign. He came from well back last at the 800m to finish behind the smart St Nicholas Abbey in the 2400m Coronation Cup, Red Cadeaux was a close 2nd to Dunaden in last year's Melbourne Cup and connections are keen on a second bid.

Sizzling was all the talk at Eagle Farm but one TAB Sportsbet punter had $5,000 at $10 on Kabayan to win next Sat's TJ Smith at Eagle Farm. The Gai Waterhouse-trained 2YO won on debut at Wyong before finishing 2nd at Rosehill last week as a $2.75 favorite. Punters don't want to be on anything that finished behind Sizzling in the Sires' Produce. Academus, 2nd to Sizzling, is $5 to $8 and isn't attracting any interest. "Kabayan and Boban are our worst results, punters are looking for other form lines to get Sizzling beat in the TJ Smith Plate," says TAB Sportsbet's Matt Jenkins. Boban ($5.50) is rated a leading chance after displaying a great turn of foot to round up a field of 14 at Doomben a week ago.
