The 2010 Melbourne Cup winner heads 53 entries for the $1 million weight-for-age showdown. Entries closed on Tuesday. Americain, who finished fourth in the 2011 Melbourne Cup, will be out to join Shocking, Makybe Diva, Saintly and Lets Elope as horses to complete the Melbourne-Australian Cup double.
