Is there a purge looming at TVN? Speculation has started in the wake of some forceful but slightly odd comments from Racing Victoria chief executive Rob Hines. Reports today say he has indicated that major changes are on the way to change how TVN operates. Racing Victoria, Racing NSW and the race clubs that make up the ownership of TVN will all have direct representation on the TVN board of management. (That sounds messy, for starters!). Hines is reported to be saying: 'It will be quite different. I think you will see a lot of changes, structural changes, editorial changes at the channel. I would think there will be an editorial policy, a sponsorship policy, a promotional policy. A lot of stuff will get redone.'

So, what does all this mean for TVN? Are some of the on-camera staff to be dumped? Will new faces be hauled in? It must be an intirguing and slightly worrying time for the TVN crew. New bosses invariably mean new favorites - and noses out of joint. It certainly will be interesting to see who stays, who goes, what's new and what's thrown out.
