CHAD Schofield resumes riding at the Scone two-day meeting with some key feature race rides. Schofield, who incurred an 18-meeting suspension following his ride on Casino Dancer in the ATC Oaks on April 19, hasn’t ridden since he won the Group 1 Champagne Stakes on the impressive South Australian Go Indy GoIt was Schofield’s third Group 1 in a season that has seen him win the Cox Plate on Shamus Award and the Newmarket on Lankan RupeeAnthony Cummings has booked Schofield to ride last start Adelaide Guineas winner Alpha Beat in the $400,000 Inglis Guineas (1400 m).

Peter Moody has booked him for ex-New Zealander Full Of Spirit in the $200,000 Emirates Park Stud Scone Cup on the Friday as well as last start Wangoom winner Kneeling in the $140,000 Arrowfield Ortensia Stakes (1100 m). Schofield’s father Glyn also resumes riding this week and he’s secured the ride on last start wagga Town Plate winner Unanimously in the Ortensia. Glyn Schofield will also ride the Luke Oliver-trained Jessy Belle in the Guineas. Brenton Avdulla, another fresh from an enforced break, rides Woodbine for Gai Waterhouse in the guineas;Ironstein in the Cup, Ichihara in the Ortensia and Miss Stellabelle in the Coolmore Dark Jewel Classic.
