Leading-money trainer John Moore holds the strongest hand yet again in today's Sha Tin feature and Kyara gets his chance at some silverware in the Panasonic Cup (1,400m). Moore also has Silver Grecian (Brett Prebble) in the race with very strong claims and he might well quinella it, but Kyara (Tim Clark) has enough in his favour with a low draw, 10-pound weight pull on his stablemate and the prospect of the worthwhile speed that he requires. His last win was in something similar, a well-run 1,40

His last win was in something similar, a well-run 1,400m Class One last March, but, of course, Kyara will - as always - need luck at the right time.

His moderate winning record of three from 27 has pretty much been all down to the fact he has an unlucky racing style.

But with several capable of leading the race and a few others pushing forward looking to settle in handy spots, the Cup promises to have at least the good, even tempo that Kyara needs to relax in his race and then produce his brilliant finishing sectionals.
Luck at the right time was missing for Kyara last start, when he ran on to finish third to Fleet Command over this course on October 14 but should have won the race after going for a run at the 200m that slammed shut on him. At least connections had something positive to take away from that in the knowledge that Kyara is in good form and, if he gets the right breaks today, he will be in the finish.

Likewise, enigmatic Silver Grecian needs some luck coming from the out the back in his races, so he is a second reason that Moore will be hoping for tempo. He probably had his chance on the all-weather track last start over 1,650m, but the last part of his runs over that trip distance always been a touch soft, suggesting that is as far as he wants to go and his best runs have been at 1,400m.
