TRAINER Mick Price will produce the cream of his juvenile team on Saturday at Caulfield as he strives to turn around his fortunes in the Blue Diamond Stakes later this month, reports The Age.

Its report says: Price already has the reigning favourite - Malasun - for the $1 million group 1 for two-year-olds and she will be joined by another unbeaten filly, Samaready, and an unraced filly, Tuscan Gaze, in Saturday's Blue Diamond Stakes Prelude.

After being tempted to run Malasun second-up in the Blue Diamond, Price said yesterday he had decided instead to run her again on Saturday.

''I take a punt if I do run her and take a punt if I don't, but after looking again at the replay of her Caulfield win, she's still learning her craft and it just seems the best option to let her have that race experience,'' he said.

''She won well on debut, but it was the first time she'd been in among horses and she was a bit green and then when she hit the front, she was mentally off and on, so I'm thinking that another run could do her the world of good with a mind to the big one two weeks later.''

Malasun landed some decent bets on debut in the Blue Diamond Preview on January 26, but on Saturday was promoted to favouritism for the race on February 25 after the failure of Jimando at Caulfield.
