One punter wasted no time in backing Unencumbered to win the 2014 Golden Slipper when betting opened with tab.com.au this morning. The Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner opened $11, but caught the eye of one early shopper.
The bet of $10,000 @ $11 was enough to force the son of Testa Rossa into $9. Earthquake ($5) opened favourite after toying with her rivals when winning on debut.
Gai Waterhouse, who has won the past two Golden Slippers, has Fighting Sun ($8) on the second line of betting. Impressive trial winner, Rubick ($15), has attracted smaller interest and is the best backed runner to win the Blue Diamond Stakes.
