DOUBTFILLY'S first-up defeat at Doomben on Saturday will not force any change of plans to head south and she may be joined on the road by her conqueror Grayson Square, reports the Courier-Mail.

It says: Debutant Grayson Square ($31) upset Doubtfilly ($1.85) after a tense struggle down the home straight to score by a short neck in the Project Services Handicap.

Doubtfilly's trainer Stuart Kendrick wasn't offering any excuses but he was happy with her performance at her first run since finishing fourth in the Golden Slipper in early April.

"We won't be changing Sydney plans because she was beaten," Kendrick said. "She didn't shirk the task. She wasn't wound right up for this run and had to work a bit under a big weight. I'd like to see her draw a good barrier and be ridden quietly to use her turn of foot. And the winner might be pretty good."
