Australian jockey Jay Ford, riding for the first time in Singapore since cutting short his five-month stint in January, was reunited with star Australian sprinter Takeover Target for some light exercise this morning. It was the first time Ford had been on the rising 10 year-old since his victory in the Group 1 Goodwood in Adelaide earlier this month."He stretched out nicely and felt great," said Ford. "He's an old hand and he's been here before. He knows what it is all about."

Australian jockey Jay Ford, riding for the first time in Singapore since cutting short his five-month stint in January, was reunited with star Australian sprinter Takeover Target for some light exercise this morning. It was the first time Ford had been on the rising 10 year-old since his victory in the Group 1 Goodwood in Adelaide earlier this month.

"He stretched out nicely and felt great," said Ford. "He's an old hand and he's been here before. He knows what it is all about." Ford, who missed Takeover Target's success in the Group 1 T.J. Smith at Randwick on April 18, said the "old boy" had the Goodwood at his mercy throughout the race. "He always had them covered," said Ford. "He was in cruise control thoughout and it was a dominant win but I realise we are going to have to be on our game to win this race. There are a lot of nice horses in the race."

Ford remembers seeing rival Rocket Man's first three or four races before heading back to Australia. "I was impressed with what I saw of him and I believe his form since has been excellent," said Ford. "It's going to be a good race against Rocket Man and the two Hong Kong horses (Sacred Kingdom and Inspiration), but I know my bloke is fit and well and in excellent shape."

Hong Kong-based Australian jockey Darren Beadman was aboard Inspiration in a gallop on the course proper, running the last 600m in 38.5 seconds. "He was having a good look around," said Beadman. "He can be a bit of a sticky beak but he felt good...It was pretty cruisy sort of work but he didn't need a lot. His major work was done before he left home."

Day by day trainer John Moore is feeling a lot more relaxed with the way Inspiration has settled in.
