GLAMOUR New Zealand filly We Can Say It Now is on track to launch her Cadbury Guineas charge at Te Rapa on Saturday week, reports Bart Sinclair in the Courier-Mail.

His report says: We Can Say It Now will take on older sprinters in the weight-for-age Waikato Sprint over 1400m. One of her rivals will be Emirates Stakes winner Wall Street. The Starcraft filly has won at WFA. She was successful in the Captain Cook Stakes (1600m) at Trentham at her most recent start on December 4.

Training partners Murray and Bjorn Baker selected the Waikato Sprint as an ideal stepping stone to the $750,000 Cadbury Guineas at Flemington on March 5. Leith Innes will be on We Can Say It Now at Te Rapa but no rider has been booked for the Australian trip which will be extended to Sydney if the filly runs up to expectations in Melbourne.

We Can Say It Now is $11 equal second favourite for the Guineas. She indicated she will be close to her top for the Waikato Sprint with a strong performance in an exhibition gallop with stablemate Harris Tweed between races at Te Aroha last Friday.

"They galloped together from the 1000 metres and really quickened the last 600 in close to 35. The filly was going the better as you'd expect but it was very good work," Bjorn Baker said.
