REIGNING Melbourne Cup-winning jockey Corey Brown reckons rivals are left in awe of So You Think. Racing's latest thoroughbred marvel maintained a throttle hold on markets for Tuesday's Melbourne Cup after another comprehensive flaying of rivals in yesterday's Mac- kinnon Stakes at Flemington, reports Craig Young in the Sunday Age.

His report says: ''We could nearly both ride him and win,'' Brown said in reference to joining jockey Steven Arnold on So You Think. ''I was coming back to get on his back aboard Shoot Out and when he [Arnold] pushed the button we were just left standing there, like we were all stuck to the fence.''

Brown admitted rival jockeys talk about So You Think in running. ''F--- me, look at that - that's what we say,'' Brown said.

Despite winning a second Cox Plate last weekend in an unheard of 10 starts, So You Think was friendless in betting markets on the Melbourne Cup in the past five days.

Last year's winner, Shocking, had steamed to the top of betting for the $6 million marathon but the stayer finished sixth behind So You Think yesterday. ''I took ground off everything but the winner,'' said Shocking's jockey, Michael Rodd.
