Gerald Ryan has confirmed in-form mare Ready To Lift will stay in Sydney for the Group Three Summer Cup at Randwick on Boxing Day after a cancelled flight ruled her out of a Perth Cup start.

The Rosehill trainer had Ready To Lift booked to fly to Melbourne on Tuesday before heading to Perth for the Group Two feature on January 1.

"They cancelled the flight the other day but rang me Friday to tell me another flight was available but I don't want her getting stranded in Melbourne, so she will definitely stay in Sydney," Ryan said.

Ready To Lift blitzed Zazabeau by two lengths to win the Christmas Cup (2400m) at Rosehill on December 13.

"I couldn't be happier with her and I would have hated her to be stuck in Melbourne and miss out on a run the way she's going," Ryan said.

"It's always been a nightmare getting horses to Perth this time of year and nothing has changed."

Ready To Lift was promoted to Perth Cup favouritism after it was confirmed Gilded Venom would be spelled after his C B Cox Stakes win on Wednesday.

But in a revised market following Ready To Lift's defection, the David Hayes-trained The Fuzz heads betting at $5 ahead of Annenkov ($6.50) and Ballack ($7.50).
