Trainer John Thompson will use the Stan Fox Stakes at Randwick as a stepping stone for Run For Naara who will back up in Saturday week's Group One Flight Stakes.

Weight was the deciding factor in the Patinack Farm team choosing the Group Two race over Saturday's other 1400-metre option, the Listed Reginald Allen Quality, for the dual acceptor.

Run For Naara has topweight of 58kg against her own sex in the Listed race while she has just 54.5kg in the five-horse Stan Fox which includes boom colt Denman.

"It's just a stepping stone to the mile (1600m) next week," Thompson said.

"We thought it was the easier option with the weight and the best way to make sure she was in good order for the Flight.

"I'll just look for her to run well and come through it well, that's the main thing.

"Obviously I'm not really confident of beating Denman."

The Peter Snowden-trained Denman won the $1 million Golden Rose last month and is the $1.50 favourite on TAB Sportsbet over More Than Great ($2.80) from the David Payne yard.

Run For Naara is on a VRC Oaks (2500m) path and was a first-up sixth to Sister Madly over 1200 metres at Rosehill on September 12.

The More Than Ready filly had not raced since her victory in the Listed Gibson Carmichael Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on May 16.

Run For Naara had an exhibition gallop at Warwick Farm on Tuesday with stablemate Onemorenomore who runs in Saturday's feature George Main Stakes (1600m).

Thompson could not be happier with the Group One-winning Onemorenomore.

"He's super, absolutely outstanding," Thompson said.

Onemorenomore was a second-up fourth in the Listed Ming Dynasty on September 5 and has been well supported to defeat the favourite Racing To Win in the George Main.

One punter had $10,000 on Onemorenomore with TAB Sportsbet at $5 on Thursday and the colt is now in to $4.60 while Racing To Win is at $1.90.
