Leading jockey Nash Rawiller is free to continue riding during the Brisbane winter carnival following a successful appeal against a suspension.

Rawiller was suspended for 10 meetings following his winning ride on the Anthony Freedman-trained Mawingo in last Saturday's Group One Doomben Cup.

Stewards found Rawiller responsible for causing interference to third placegetter Manighar and suspended him until June 8, the day before the Group One Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm.

"I'm very happy and I knew from the very moment the interference happened that I had nothing to do with it," Rawiller said.

Rawiller's late decision to appeal cost him the ride on Buffering who will be ridden by Hugh Bowman in Saturday's Group One Doomben 10,000.

"I'm disappointed I won't be riding Buffering tomorrow but I'm hoping to get back on him if he goes to the Stradbroke," Rawiller said.

Rawiller can resume riding immediately and hopes to ride at the Queensland Oaks meeting at Eagle Farm next Saturday.

Melbourne rider Peter Mertens is free to ride Sydney filly Invest in the Group One Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm on Saturday week after having an eight-meeting careless riding suspension reduced.

Mertens was suspended until Sunday week following Invest's win in the Group Three Roses at Doomben last Saturday but had two meetings shaved off by the first level appeal committee.

Meanwhile Buffering and Sydney sprinter Pampelonne have been cleared to run in the Doomben 10,000 following veterinary inspections.

However, Queensland stewards have ordered Buffering undergo a further precautionary examination on race morning.

Pampelonne required stitches for a minor head gash following an accident in his stall during the week while Buffering has recovered from a foot abscess which ruled him out of the Group One BTC Cup at Doomben.
