Kris Lees has warned that Samantha Miss will not be completely wound up for her return at Randwick but rival trainer Robert Price isn't counting on it.

Price will saddle up Ivory Pegasus in the Group Two Light Fingers Stakes (1200m) and admits he is throwing the filly in the deep end.

Ivory Pegasus has won her past two starts but has yet to meet the quality of opposition she will face on Saturday.

Triple Group One winner Samantha Miss is the standout with the likes of Glowlamp, Love And Kisses and Portillo, who were placed behind her in the spring, among the 22 entries.

"We'll give it a go, we're not going to find out if she is up to them if she's home in the stable," Price said.

"And even if Samantha Miss is not at her best, she has a lot of class on her side and might just be too good.

"But I would still be happy to run second to Samantha Miss."

Ivory Pegasus is a daughter of stakeswinning mare Red Ivory, who gave the south coast trainer his first black type victory in the 1999 Australia Day Cup.

If Ivory Pegasus can perform well on Saturday she will continue through to the Group One Arrowfield Stakes (2000m) on April 4.

"The Arrowfield is the aim this preparation," Price said.

"I think she will get over further as she gets older but she's still very lightly raced and has a bit to learn.

"I'm just excited to have a filly like her.

Ivory Pegasus has had just four starts and has a second placing on debut to go with her two recent wins.

Wakeful Stakes winner Rocha has also been entered for the Light Fingers which will be her first start since she ran five lengths fifth to Samantha Miss in the VRC Oaks.

Sara's Choice, who ran fourth to Samantha Miss in the Flight Stakes, is also among the Light Fingers entries.

The Kevin Moses-trained filly ran fourth in an 800m barrier trial at Randwick on Monday.
