It's been a forgettable season so far for trainer Mick Price who has had another setback with Heart Of Dreams to miss the rest of the spring after jarring up in the Underwood Stakes.

Price is relying on the in-form pair Spacecraft, who runs at Moonee Valley on Friday night, and Inablitz who appears at Sandown on Wednesday to fly the flag for his stable this week.

Heart Of Dreams, who landed the second of his two Group One wins in last year's Underwood (1800m) on his home track at Caulfield, weakened out of Saturday's Underwood to finish seventh to superstar four-year-old So You Think.

Price said the Show A Heart five-year-old would be spelled with a view to the autumn.

"The strain of slugging it out at weight-for-age past 1600 metres was beginning to catch up with him," Price said.

"He's a bit jaded, the track was a bit solid, there is no specific injury, I've spoken to the owner and we agreed to put him straight out and reassess what to do with him in the autumn."

Heart Of Dreams is the second Cox Plate prospect Price has lost for the spring with Predatory Pricer earlier going amiss with a hock infection.

On Saturday, Price's beautifully-bred colt Echoes Of Heaven bled from both nostrils when running fifth to Mackadoo over 1700m at Caulfield.

The brother to Manhattan Rain and half-brother to Redoute's Choice faces a mandatory three-month ban from racing.

The David Hayes-trained Largo Lad, who finished ninth in the Underwood, has also had his spring campaign cut short due to a tendon injury.

The Hayes stable reported to Racing Victoria stewards that initial scans showed a lesion in an off-fore tendon and a further examination would be done at Lindsay Park.

Spacecraft is shooting for a hat-trick of wins in the 1600m Handicap at Moonee Valley on Friday night which, if he wins, should gain him a start in the Group One Toorak Hcp (1600m) at Caulfield on October 9.

Inablitz is engaged in Wednesday's Ahern's At Highways Hcp (1300m) at Sandown.

The lightly-raced Testa Rossa mare has won three of her four starts, the latest over 1100m on the synthetic track at Geelong when resuming on September 9.

Sandown was rated a dead (5) on Tuesday and Price said Inablitz would take her place with Dale Smith the rider.

He said a black-type race in Adelaide in a month's time could be the target for Inablitz if she can beat what is a smart midweek mares field.

Inablitz is $3.80 favourite with TAB Sportsbet ahead of Cat's Pyjamas at $4.80, Margham, Cool Diva and Fabulist at $7.50 with Royal Commands next at $9.
