Brett Prebble will be the new rider of Hong Kong star Sacred Kingdom when he attempts to thwart Australia's international sprint king Takeover Target's defence of his KrisFlyer Sprint crown in Singapore next month.
"I rode him in a gallop on Saturday morning and he went quite nicely, though he's apparently never much of a trackworker," Prebble told the South China Morning Post.
"He reminds me a bit of Absolute Champion that way, a very conservative horse on the track and saves himself up for race day."
The paper reported that Green Birdie, runner-up to Inspiration in the Hong Kong Sprint in December, would not run in the KrisFlyer because of a foot abscess.
The $S1 million KrisFlyer Sprint (1200m) is on May 17.
