Brett Prebble will ride in Melbourne for the second successive Saturday after being booked to partner Dao Dao in the Group One Futurity Stakes at Flemington.

The former Victorian, now based in Hong Kong, answered a call from trainer David Hayes to pilot Evidentia in the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield on the weekend but the filly had no luck and finished down the track.

He returned to Hong Kong for Sunday's Sha Tin meeting and celebrated a four-win haul, highlighted by his victory aboard Sacred Kingdom in the Chairman's Sprint Prize.

Prebble's day was soured in the stewards' room when he was suspended for careless riding but he will be free to partner Dao Dao for Team Hawkes in Saturday's feature race in Australia.

The Futurity Stakes (1600m) is the first leg of the Asian Mile Challenge which also includes the Champions Mile in Hong Kong on April 25.

Dao Dao has contested the Hong Kong feature twice, his best effort a third last year, and his connections are keen to give him the chance to go two better this time around.

Prebble has been booked to ride Dao Dao in the Champions Mile if the gelding makes the trip.

The top jockey was in outstanding form at Sha Tin on Sunday and now leads Douglas Whyte by 14 wins in the Hong Kong jockeys' premiership.

South African Jeff Lloyd, who rode successfully in Sydney before relocating to Hong Kong, also starred at Sha Tin with three winners.
