The Peter Moody-trained Hinchinbrook has confirmed a trip to Royal Ascot with a brilliant barrier trial win at Cranbourne.
The Fastnet Rock colt, ridden by Luke Nolen, ran in the opening trial on Monday, beating About Ready by 1-3/4 lengths in 47.35 seconds which was the fastest 800m heat of the day.
The third placed Maquina was a further six lengths away on the slow (7) going.
Moody said Hinchinbrook was due to fly out on June 1 for England accompanied by the Danny O'Brien-trained Star Witness.
"I haven't spoken to the owners but he went nice enough this morning and I didn't see anything to say he wouldn't go," Moody said.
"I am very happy with him."
A four-time Group One placegetter, Hinchinbrook has been nominated for the Golden Jubilee Stakes (1200m) at Royal Ascot on June 18.
The stable's intention is for the colt to go on to the July Cup (1200m) at Newmarket on July 8.
Dual Group One winner Star Witness, who has been working well at Flemington, is entered for both the King's Stand Stakes (1000m) at Royal Ascot on June 14 and the Golden Jubilee.
It will be Moody's third trip to Royal Ascot having taken Magnus there in 2007 and 2008.
Magnus was a creditable third in the King's Stand won by fellow Australian Miss Andretti on his first visit but finished out of the placings a year later in what would be his final race.
Hinchinbrook was transferred to Moody in Melbourne earlier this season after doing his early racing out of Gerald Ryan's Sydney stable.
He has yet to win a race in Moody's care but has racked up three Group One placings.
He ran third in Eagle Falls' Oakleigh Plate, third to star stablemate Black Caviar in the William Reid and second to Hay List in the All-Aged Stakes at his most recent start.
