Anthony Cummings' two-pronged attack on Saturday's Group One Doomben Cup is on track with both Miss Darcey and Prima Nova enjoying immaculate build-ups.

Fresh from the stable landing the BTC Cup courtesy of Duporth last Saturday, Cummings is hoping for another profitable trip north to claim another Queensland feature.

"Both horses are similar stories, they come into this race after having no luck leading up to it," Cummings said.

Hussonet filly Miss Darcey goes into the race after running third to Marveen in the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) on May 2 when she was posted wide for most of the run after drawing awkwardly.

"I'm very happy with her, she worked well at Doomben on Tuesday morning," Cummings said.

"She's been unlucky in her last couple and is due for a change of fortune.

"She covered a lot ground at the Gold Coast but she still stuck to her task, they ran pretty good time in the end and she was taking ground off them.

"She's got no weight on her back (53.5kg) and I think she's up to this race."

Big-race specialist Glen Boss has the ride.

Two starts back Miss Darcey ran third to Daffodil in the AJC Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 18.

Prima Nova, who has Brad Rawiller aboard and carries 57kg in the weight-for-age feature, made good ground late when fourth to Fulmonti in the Group Two Hollindale Stakes (1800m) on the Gold Coast on May 2.

Before that she rocketed home from near last to win the Listed JRA Plate (2000m) with Boss doing the steering at Randwick last month.

"She worked well on Tuesday as well," Cummings said.

"In the Hollindale she had no luck getting out and lost three lengths in comparison with the winner who stuck to the rail, and she only got beaten a length.

"Her run was excellent and she will race well again Saturday."

TAB Sportsbet has Miss Darcey as its $7 equal second favourite for the Doomben Cup with Triple Honour the $6 popular elect while Prima Nova is rated an $11 chance.
