Campanologist landed his first Group One success when he beat German favourite Wiener Walzer in the Grosser Preis Von Lotto Hamburg.

Godolphin's five-year-old, trained by Saeed bin Suroor, was driven into the lead over a furlong out after Wiener Walzer had made the running.

The 9-2 shot kept on strongly for Frankie Dettori to land the spoils.

Bin Suroor said: "I am very pleased to see Campanologist win a Group One race.

"He came to Germany in very good form and I am particularly happy with the manner of his victory today - he was very game.

"There are no plans for him at the moment but we will look to find another Group One contest for him over a mile and a half."

Dettori was similarly delighted, telling www.godolphin.com: "Campanologist deserved to win a Group One race and it's a tremendous result."
