It's all over...Sydney sprinter Gold Trail's UK campaign have been aborted because of injury. He'll return to Australia as soon as possible. Trainer Gary Portelli had been happy with GT's recent trackwork but his progress came to an end on Monday. A workout was cancelled and veterinary advice was that the injury he sustained at Royal Ascot could re-occur. Portelli says: 'He came out of his box stiff and the vet said he could aggravate the injury if we continued so we decided to bring him home

Hopefully he can get through his quarantine and maybe go to New Zealand again otherwise we'll get him ready for the autumn.'
