NZ news...Last year's Grp 1 Queensland Oaks (2400m) winner Quintessential returns to racing at Te Rapa NZ on Saturday week. Quintessential handled heavy ground to win the Oaks in June before running 2nd to Brambles a week later in the Grp 1 Queensland Derby. She failed twice in the spring. Trainer John Sargent says Quintessential will resume in the Grp 1 Waikato Draught Sprint (1400m) at Te Rapa on Feb 9 before a likely trip to Sydney for weight-for-age features.
