The appointment of the next head-trainer at Darley will not be known for at least 10 days, possibly longer, reports Racing Network.

Henry Plumptre, Darley's Australian General Manager, says any decision on the stable's new trainer will not be made until after Hong Kong's International races on December 8.

The shock announcement last week regarding Peter Snowden ending his tenure with Darley at the end of May next year, has resulted in speculation about who will take over the role. Plumptre says a decision may in fact not be made until Christmas.

"We've stated it's important to have an Australian native who knows what he's doing in the local environment."
