The Matriarch was a great result for PPD Club members. Purple $3.30 was editor Brian Blackwell's headline Daily Special tip and the amazing 'King of the Longshots' topped it in the final race of the carnival, tipping the winner Sound Journey $7.10/$2.70 and the runner-up Our Saint $12.30/$3.90 as a bracket selection! The quinella paid $42.30, the exacta $84.80.
