Racing Victoria stewards hit Nikolic with two charges last Friday and the inquiry was scheduled to be heard on Thursday but Nikolic's lawyers requested the matter be heard in front of the RAD board rather than stewards. Nikolic will defend a charge of 'contacting a professional punter' during a January race meeting and for refusing to comply with an order or direction of stewards while the punter, Neville Clements, is to answer a charge of refusing to provide stewards with his complete and original phone records between September and January. The hearing is set down for Friday.
