Trainer Mick Price is working on a 'fail safe' strategy to have Samaready geared to fly in the $1 million Golden Rose next month. Mick says: 'I would think that a very logical preparation would be a first-up run in the Quezette Stakes 1100m, then second-up two weeks later in the McNeil 1200m and then two weeks to the Golden Rose.'The plan will keep Samaready at her home track at Caulfield until the Golden Rose, and it also means the filly will have plenty of time to 'build up' for the Golden Ros

Mick Price reckons she will handle the trip OK. He says: '1400 metres will be within reach of a filly like her. Physically she's lengthened a bit and made some improvement, and that could help.' Samaready is already shaping up well - she won a barrier jumpout trial at Caulfield on Monday.
