Managing part owner Neil Werrett has revealed  that champion mare Black Caviar has taken to pregnancy the same way she took to her racing career, reports Racing Victora.

Black Caviar is In foal to Exceed And Excel and Werrett reckons the only issue with the 25 times unbeaten sprinter was keeping her voracious appetite under control.

“She’s going really well,” Werrett said. “All the scans are very clear and she’s due in early October. The biggest issue we’ve got with her is keeping the weight off her because she’s such a good doer.

“They’re doing a great job looking after her to make sure that she doesn’t put on too much weight during her pregnancy but it’s always a good thing to have a horse that eats well.”

Werrett, who also part owns leading Lightning contender Snitzerland, said the owners hadn’t even thought about a likely stallion for Black Caviar’s next mating.
