Lord of the Sky is unlikely to get things all his own way in the open handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday, reports Racing Network.

With the nominations released on Monday, Lord of the Skymay have such high-quality horses as African PulseBroken,Sea LordStar Rolling and Zamorar as rivals.

Lord of the Sky was a long odds-on favourite when he missed a place in Saturday’s Group 3 $150,000 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.

Trainer Robbie Laing told Racing Network on Sunday that the horse had pulled up well and he could see no reason why he shouldn’t back up over 1000 metres at the Valley.

The $80,000 race has attracted 20 nominations and what might be a very strong field.
