Leading bookmaker Alan Eskander believes Toydini is the “horse to beat” in Saturday’s Epsom Handicap at Randwick. The Guy Walter-trained galloper has firmed from $4.80 into outright favouritism at $4.40 for the Group one race, while previous favourite Boban has drifted out to $5 after drawing barrier 11 on Wednesday morning.

“The barriers aren't as big a factor for Toydini as he will go back from gate 14 so we’ve seen him shorten from $4.80 into outright favourite at $4.40,” Betstar’s Alan Eskander said. “He should get a lovely cart into the race and be able to unleash his trademark finish down the Randwick straight. That’s why Toydini is the horse to beat.”

“Barrier 11 isn’t ideal for Boban and as a result he has drifted from $4.60 out to $5. He can tend to pull if he doesn't have cover and while Schofield should be able to get cover from that gate, drawing inside would have been much more preferable.”

Meanwhile the Peter Moody-trained French import Lidari has been wound in from $21 into $15 after drawing gate seven.

Lidari fits the mould perfectly of an import that improves significantly at his second preparation in Australia.  Both his runs down in Melbourne this time have been super, and he should get a lovely trail behind the speed form gate seven,” Eskander said.
