Golden Slipper placegetter Bring Me the Maid resumes in Saturday week’s Silver Shadow at Randwick, but trainer Peter Moody is anticipating only a light spring for the filly.

Bring Me the Maid trials at Hawkesbury on Monday ahead of her return in the $175,000 Group 2 race at Randwick on August 23.

“She hasn’t strengthened a lot — I think she's still a preparation away,” Moody said. “She's grown a bit, but I'd like to see her grow a bit more. I’m looking forward to getting her back to the races, but I’m thinking she'll have a pretty light spring and be aimed at the autumn again."

Bring Me the Maid won the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill on March 29 before coming from near the rear of the field for a 1¾-length third behind Mossfun in the Slipper.

Stablemate Better Land, a close-up second behind Scissor Kick in The Rosebud at Randwick yesterday, will follow a similar path to that which Dissident took last year.

Dissident, who resumes in the Warwick Stakes on Saturday week, ran second in The Rosebud before running second in the Run to the Rose and Golden Rose.

This Saturday, Moody will run LidariBrambles and Kitten On the Run in the Peter Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield while Moment of Change will run in the Regal Roller Stakes (1200m). (Racing Network)
