Gai Waterhouse has given her strongest indication yet that Fiorente will run in Saturday's Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill Gardens, setting up an enticing clash with It's A Dundeel. Speaking at Randwick trackwork on Tuesday morning, Waterhouse said he would almost definitely run in the 2000m weight-for-age Group 1. "He bowled over 1400m on the course proper, he has an amazing turn of foot, we have seen in it the Melbourne Cup and also the Australian Cup and I think Sydney punters will get their chance to see him do it on Saturday," she said. There may be a month until the $4 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) but Waterhouse said Fiorente was already at his peak. "He is at the top of his game, the Australian Cup brought him to his peak, he is going very well...He is a competitive horse, loves to race, loves to work...He is a big horse, stands over a lot of ground, he is bright in the eye, eating well, he and Carlton House have eating contests on a daily basis."
