Can Black Caviar keep beating Hay List? Can she beat him over more ground than 1200m? These are the questions in the wake of the mighty mare's thrilling BTC Cup win at Doomben. Hay List is probably the world's #2 sprinter but Black Caviar has his measure. She downed him by 2 lengths at Doomben, 3.25 lengths in the Lightning and 2.75 lengths in TJ Smith at Randwick. Their next clash will be over more ground. It's the tester for both.

Jockey Damien Browne remains convinced that Chateau Fort is a Qld Derby prospect despite his defeat in the Rough Habit Plate 2020m at Doomben. Browne got trapped wide early on the 3YO, forcing him to push forward near the 1300m and settle outside the leader. DB says: 'He kept trying and once we got into a spot he relaxed really well for me...He didn't have much luck early and I had to go forward on him but he still found the line nicely and I'm really happy with the horse going forward towards the Derby.'
