Mike Moroney is after the Qld Derby with Mr Molokai, who runs at Caulfield on Saturday in a 2000m race won last year by eventual Queensland Derby runner-up and Melbourne Cup winner Shocking. Moroney reckons it can be the key race, too, for Mr Molokai. He says: 'He's going to be a stayer and he has the ability to make it to the top level, but he's far from being a push-button type of horse...He's learning and he's green, but he's going places, I think.' MM is in Queensland for the winter carnival. He's quietly confident his three runners at Doomben are eachway prospects. He has Sophrosyne in the Best Classic, Marheta in the Doomben Roses and Mr Baritone in the BRC Sprint.
