Champion trainer John Size doesn't call on Brett Prebble too often
From RACING POST HK
Champion trainer John Size doesn't call on Brett Prebble too often but the two Australians hook up tonight in the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union Cup (2,200m) and look a great chance to take it out withEndowing.
The Class Two feature looks an open race but Endowing scored his only win over the same course and distance earlier in the season and he has since proved a model of consistency.
He was subsequently runner-up to the Classic Mile winner, Gold-Fun, in January and then drew a reward, of sorts, last time out with a surprise second in Akeed Mofeed's Derby last month.
In the past two runnings of the Class Two, there have been pointers towards the Queen Mother Memorial Cup and the Champions & Chater Cup, doubtless where Size will want to be heading with Endowing, who gives the impression 2,400m will suit him down to the ground.
In 2011, Packing Ok beat Super Pistachio in this race, getting plenty of weight off him, and the runner-up then took the Queen Mother when he dropped in the weights.
Last year, it was Liberator who carried 117 pounds in this race to win and then finished second in the Queen Mother and won the Champions & Chater.
Past Champions & Chater winners Mighty High and Mr Medici line up tonight, not devoid of form but racing well-below their best and they may provide the tempo in an event without dedicated leaders, though the lightweight in the race, Lucky Forever (Derek Leung Ka-chun), can press forward if he gets out of the gates better than he has been.
