That got your attention didn't it?
Well, I see this as one of the most difficult Slippers, not to mention tricky, that I've ever experienced.
What if Sepoy leads and shoots clear?
Sure, but then can he afford to burn off Satin Shoes? She's got 2 and he drew 10.
And Karuta Queen. My early pick. Been backed again lately, but she still has a nasty draw. Has to go forward. Might have the speed to clear them all, and then, who can say? Remember the Magic Millions?
Foxwedge looked good, even in defeat last start. Great jockey.
And then, in the background, there's Bart.
Two horses that have started once for wins, and now have to do what no horse has ever done.
But hang on, it's not two hundred years of history here. It's about fifty or so.
And his horses are Salade (best around $15) and the untapped Empress Rock, with Michael Rodd and a perfect draw.
And at 150/1 with at least one large source available to just about everyone..
That HAS to be worth a small risk, doesn't it? Sure she can run sixteenth, but with what we've seen so far, that $151 is rather enticing.
And of course, there's Bart...
Your decision, as always. But I'm not letting her run withour a little something for me.
150/1 each way isn't bad for an unbeaten Bart Cummings starter.
