Victoria Derby betting has opened up with Sacred Elixir ($5.50) the first elect with TAB. Champagne Stakes winner Prized Icon and the Chris Waller trained High Mist are the equal second favorites at $9.00.
“As per usual, the opening VRC markets are wide open with plenty of chances, but after a dominant win in the JJ Atkins during the Brisbane Carnival, Sacred Elixir has opened a clear favourite,” says TAB’s Nick Quinn.
Lord Macau, the only Melbourne Cup nominated horse in the Derby field, is at $51.
