Sydney training juggernaut, Chris Waller, is slowly building his Melbourne stable. Waller has told Racing Network he was happy with the progress his new Flemington stable was making.

“We’re gradually increasing the numbers and we’re finding it is cheaper to bring horses through the system in Melbourne than it is in Sydney,” Waller said.

On Wednesday at Sportingbet Park, Waller produced a first-start two-year-old called Dupe ‘Em for a strong win.

“We’re not in a hurry to fill the stable.

"There are still boxes there but we’re doing it slowly and that seems to be working for us,” Waller said.

On another record-breaking season in Sydney, Waller is constantly looking to expand his reach and Melbourne is the obvious immediate frontier.

From 136 starters in Melbourne this season, Waller has won 16 metropolitan races and Melbourne punters can expect those numbers to increase in the coming season.

Tomorrow at Caulfield Waller has just two runners and both are given genuine winning chances.

He has the in-form Amovatio ($4.60 second favourite) engaged in the $80,000 sportingbet.com.au Handicap (1400m) for three-year-olds, and the $3,40 favourite Fulgur in the $80,000 Race-Tech Australia Handicap (2000m) in the last race.
