So Anyway sent her residual value soaring and enhanced one of the finest families of the Australian Studbook when she scored a fighting win in the listed Dark Jewel Classic (1400m) at Scone.

Benefitting from a perfect ground saving ride from Peter Robl, So Anyway was able to shoot through on the inside fence and set up a winning break before the National Sale bound Purrpurrlena charged from the back of the field. And while the runner-up turned in the run of the race to just miss, it was So Anyway's day and the team from Patinack Farm were thrilled.

The three-year-old daughter of General Nediym was purchased by Patinack Farm from the draft of Rheinwood Pastoral for $200,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. With the win the filly's prize earnings have shot to $338,650. Also shooting up was her future value as a broodmare.

Trainer John Thompson said the filly had deserved today's breakthrough stakes success after a string of excellent runs with no luck. Prior to her win she had run in the first five in no fewer than nine stakes races - including a fifth placing in the Golden Slipper last year.
