Punters are sticking by Fawkner for the Makybe Diva Stakes despite a poor barrier draw today. The former Caulfield Cup winner has firmed from $7.00 to $6.00 with TAB, while Boban remains the $4.20 favourite after drawing barrier 4.
“We know Fawkner has a legion of fans and they are confident the Lloyd Williams greybeard will make a winning return despite drawing barrier 14. He has an outstanding record over the 1600 metres with four wins and three placings from eight previous attempts, so it is easy to see why he is attracting strong each way support,” said TAB’s Nick Quinn.
Exosphere remains the $3.00 favourite for the Golden Rose despite a push from punters who want to be on Speak Fondly who is in from $6.00 to $4.60.
“Little activity in the last few days after disappointingly there were just nine accepters. The best backed runner has been Speak Fondly who has come back in terrific order winning both starts this campaign,” said Quinn.
