Gai Waterhouse’s favoured Queensland Oaks runner Bohemian Lily has been scratched from Saturday’s $500,000 Group 1 race after suffering a minor injury on race eve.

Bohemian Lily was to go into the race as second favourite after a dominant performance in theDoomben Roses last Saturday, where she won by four lengths, but will now be reserved for the Spring after a minor setback.

The Chris Waller-trained Winx is now a dominant $2.40 favourite to win the race off her authoritative win in the Sunshine Coast Guineas two weeks ago.

With Imperial Lass ($41) now into the field, trainer Peter Moody wasted no time engaging Blake Shinn for the ride after he had initially been committed to Bohemian Lily.

Robert Smerdon’s Ungrateful Ellen is the shortest-priced Victorian runner in the race at $12, ahead of Mick Price’s Yulong Baby ($41), while Robbie Laing’s filly Shandaara ($61) is still two scratchings away from getting a run in the field. (www.racing.com)
