Gai Waterhouse’s bid for a sixth Golden Slipper in 2015 won’t be short on numbers with the Hall of Fame trainer entering more than 100 youngsters for the $3.5 million race, reports Racing Network.
Waterhouse will have entered an extraordinary 117 "babies" when nominations close Tuesday for the 2015 Golden Slipper.
Already, Waterhouse has won the world’s richest juvenile race with Ha Ha (2001), Dance Hero (2004), Sebring(2008), Pierro (2012) and Overreach (2013).
David Hayes, whose champion Miss Finland won the 2006 Slipper, has nominated about 60 horses, closely followed by Gerald Ryan (56) and Chris Waller (55).
Gooree Stud has entered 51, Mick Price 45, Bjorn Baker 33, Star Thoroughbreds 22 and Tony McEvoy 22.
Already, more than 600 entries for the Golden Slipper have been received.
Entries, costing $375, close Tuesday at 3pm or 2pm online.
Horses nominated for the 2015 Tooheys New Golden Slipper are also automatically entered for the 2015 $1 million Group 1 De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose, (1400m) at Rosehill during the Sydney spring carnival.
