At Kokura racetrack, Japan on Sunday, the Kenji Nonaka-trained Eishin da Vinci broke his maiden at his third start with a convincing 1 ¥-length victory in a 1200 metre maiden on grass. Owned by Toyomitsu Hirai, Eishin da Vinci was a $300,000 purchase at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Yearling sale.
He earned his NZ suffix when his dam Really Wild (USA) was sent to St Reims at Stoney Bridge Waikato.
