Black Caviar’s first foal Oscietra is at $51 in TAB’s opening market for the world’s richest race for two-year-old thoroughbreds, March’s Golden Slipper.

“Oscietra was added to the market this morning after impressing in her first jump out at Flemington and if nominated, will attempt to do something her champion mother couldn’t and that is win the Golden Slipper,” TAB’s Glenn Munsie said.

Boom colt Khan, who won on debut in October’s Newgate Breeder’s Plate, is the $11 favourite ahead of Invincible Star, Jorda, Madeenaty and Trekking, all at $15.

“At present the market is dominated by the babies we have seen with the Snowden trained Khan heading the market at a wide $11,” Munsie said.

“This colt is owned in the same interests as last year’s winner Capitalist and has only had the one run for a win in the Breeder’s Plate which has supplied a number of Slipper winners recently including Pierro, Vancouver and Capitalist.”
