A sizzling winning performance from Boban led the way for Magic Millions graduates on a successful Saturday of racing around Australia. Bookmakers reacted to Boban's effortless almost four length win in the Group Three Bill Ritchie Handicap shortening him in to equal favouritism for the Group Onr Epsom Handicap, reports Breednet.com.au.
A member of the all conquering Chris Waller stable, Boban showed a blistening turn of foot in the straight under Glyn Schofield and in a matter of strides raced away from his rivals in one of the performances of the day.
Waller said the son of Bernardini had continued to improve with maturity and was gaining great confidence from a streak of recent excellent form.
Boban was purchased by the BBA for $100,000 at the 2011 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and was intitially trained in Melbourne by Anthony Freedman.
Freedman prepared the son of Group One winning mare Kenbelle to a stakes victory in Brisbane in theDoomben Slipper before he was transferred to Waller in Sydney.
Another of the impressive winning performances in Sydney on Saturday came from the untapped Darley three-year-old Barbed in the Heritage Stakes.
A winner of his only other start at Canterbury in early May, Barbed showed great fight to edge out Diamond Oasis and Whittington in a thrilling three way finish to the feature event.
