Jockeys John Keating and Alexandra Bryan have been taken to hospital after a fall in the final race at Wangaratta.

Two riders have been taken to hospital following a fall after the winning post in the last race at Wangaratta.

Jockey John Keating was unseated from the winner Bonfire Gold in Thursday's 1300m race when it stumbled and fell 20m past the finishing line.

Apprentice Alexandra Bryan, aboard sixth-placed Another Prince, couldn't avoid the fallen horse and was also dislodged.

Victorian Jockeys' Association chief executive Matthew Hyland said both jockeys were conscious,

But they had complained of back and shoulder soreness and were taken to Wangaratta Hospital for scans.
