With ongoing success comes added pressure as Tasmanian trainer Adam Trinder is experiencing with Mystic Journey.

Adam Trinder is beginning to understand the added pressure Chris Waller went through as he prepared champion Winx during her winning streak.

Trinder trains Mystic Journey who returned to racing on Saturday to win the Group Two P B Lawrence Stakes.

The victory extended Mystic's Journey's winning streak to seven and was her 11th from 14 starts.

Her record is well short of the 33 races Winx won in succession, but with the champion's retirement Mystic Journey is being looked on as the horse to fill the void.

Trinder said he was relieved to see Mystic Journey win on Saturday, concerned the soft track may work against her.

With ongoing success comes expectation and Trinder said he had sought the advice of two top trainers how best to handle the added pressure.

"I think I've been keeping things on an even keel," Trinder said.

"I've taken a lot of advice from people like Peter Moody and Tony McEvoy in regards to these really good horses.

"Tony was obviously there at the helm at Lindsay Park before he took over his own massive operation.

"They've both got a really good understanding and I feel they've given me the right advice.

"They said don't get ahead of the game, keep your eye on the ball and be obliging."

Moody trained the unbeaten Black Caviar to her 25 straight wins.

Trinder says a decision will be made later in the week when and where Mystic Journey will race next.

Options include the Group One Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 31 and the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington a fortnight later.

"Mystic Journey is lovely and full about herself this morning post her G2 win yesterday, next raceday assignment will be announced later in the week," Trinder tweeted on Sunday.

Mystic Journey headed back to her Tasmanian base on Sunday to prepare for her next assignment.

If connections choose the Memsie Stakes, Mystic Journey will remain in Melbourne after the race for her Cox Plate build-up with Trinder to base himself at Ballarat.

Mystic Journey shortened to $5 for the Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on October 26 following Saturday's win.
