Damien Oliver pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge aboard Harlem in the Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield and has been suspended for 10 meetings.

Jockey Damien Oliver will miss the Newmarket Handicap and Australian Cup meeting after being suspended for careless riding at Caulfield.

Oliver was suspended for his ride on Harlem in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) on Saturday after shifting in onto Regal Power near the 1600m mark.

His suspension starts after riding at the Australian Guineas meeting at Flemington next Saturday and is available for rides on March 10.

Oliver earlier in the day rode He'll Haunt Us to victory in the Group Three Zeditave Stakes which provided the jockey with his first stakes win for 2020.

A three-time Melbourne Cup winning rider, Oliver has now ridden black-type winners in five decades, all before turning 50.
