Mishani Spirit has finally got the races at Toowoomba and qualified for the Magic Millions Two Year Old Classic.
A week of frustrations has been forgotten with promising filly Mishani Spirit finally making it to the races and winning at Toowoomba.
Mishani Spirit ($6.50) picked up $80,000 first prize and a QTIS bonus when she led all the way to beat the favourite Niedorp ($1.55) by four lengths in Monday's QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap (1000m) at Toowoomba.
The win makes her the third horse in Australia to qualify for the $2 million Magic Millions Classic field at the Gold Coast in January.
Mishani Spirit, who is a half sister by Jet Spur to stakes winner Mishani Hustler, was bred by her owner Mick Crooks but went through the Magic Millons National Sale making her eligible for the big series.
The filly was set to make her debut on Friday night at Toowoomba but the meeting was called off because of wind.
She was then to race at Doomben on Saturday but the races were washed out.
Frustrated trainer Ben Currie had been desperately looking for another race when told Saturday's race was moved completely to Toowoomba and he decided to head there.
"She actually got to Doomben last Saturday so she has had a funny old lead-up. But she has shown us plenty in the jump-outs and now we can start looking at the Magic Millions," Currie said.
